Although well-known for coiffing actors, models, artists, athletes, politicians, and other notables, the salon also prides itself on maintaining a steady and long-standing local and international clientele.
Danny Jelaca On The Go
This past summer (2019), Danny partnered with Salon 66 in Sag Harbour on Long Island to host a ten day pop-up residency, heading north to serve his fabulous clientele. Employing AURA’s complete remote capabilities, Danny and his team operated seamlessly, from online bookings to remote payments. According to Jelaca, “AURA made it so convenient and easy. The clients just signed up on the app, filled out their credit card information, and checked out – 1, 2, 3. I loved it!”

Within minutes, we were ready for clients. We didn’t need a front desk, cash drawer, or computer at the physical location. It was all done through the AURA app which I could easily access on my phone or tablet. Clients checked out through the app with a credit card or gift card and were on their way. It couldn’t have been easier! Our salon has all kinds of clients. Everyone from busy moms who fit in styling appointments between school and activities, to politicians and actors that frequently travel. These clients want to book on their own schedule, which is often after-hours, and from the comfort of their tablet or phone.
The salon also has clients that prefer to text or call their stylist directly, who have not adopted the tech world as readily, which is fine too. In these cases our stylists are logged into AURA on their phones and simply book clients’ appointments for them.
Making The Switch
With a client list including the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz – and an esteemed reputation in a world-class destination, it is no surprise that guests of Danny Jelaca Salon & Spa expect white-glove service. Regrettably, Danny’s former software offered fewer features and benefits than his guests expected, which frustrated Danny and his operations team.
According to Schmidt, “we needed a complete business management tool that could not only meet the level of service and functionality we expected, but one that was aesthetically pleasing, intuitive, and one that our clients would recognize and respect as an extension of the Danny Jelaca brand. Our old system was not giving off the impression we wanted.”
Knowing it was time for a change, Jelaca tested various types of software, decided on AURA, and couldn’t be happier. “I’ve worked with a lot of salons in the past. I’ve worked with a lot of different software and I feel that AURA is the most modern program that I’ve ever worked with.”
