The inaugural Aura BeautySphere Connect took place on May 5th, 2025, for salon and spa owners from across the country. This exclusive gathering featured a lineup of industry leaders at The Standard Spa in the beautiful Belle Isle in Miami Beach.
AM SESSION HIGHLIGHTS
After a warm welcome and opportunity to network, attendees were treated to a full morning of insights and inspiration from Coco Duan, Benjamin Camagna from Currie Hair Skin Nails, Alicia Soulier from SalonScale, and Sarai Speer also known as Platinum Giraffe.
Leading with Magnetic Confidence
Coco Duan brought her 20 years of corporate leadership and coaching and shared her strategy to empower high-achieving yet self-doubting women entrepreneurs to build grounded confidence and become unstoppable in achieving their goals. Coco kicked off the event with some soothing breathwork, preparing attendees for a busy day ahead.
The Associate Advantage
Benjamin Camagna, Currie’s Director of Education discussed the evolution of their successful associate program across five locations in Pennsylvania and Delaware. He shared the program’s curriculum, which provides a clear and concise path for associates to gain their chair and increase revenue for both apprentices and the salon.
Mastering Profitability
Alicia Soulier, the founder and CEO of SalonScale, spoke about Mastering Profitability in salons through a parts and labor pricing strategy. She critiqued the common practice of blending the costs of hair color into labor expenses, which she believes obscures true profitability and advocates for separating parts and labor, which allows salons to establish transparent pricing and enhance their profitability.
The Nervous System of Your Business
Healer, coach, entrepreneur, and industry personality Sarai Speer, who overcame addiction through her love for hair, stepped up with her inspirational presentation. Sarai emphasized the difference between survival mode and flow state and discussed the importance of sealing energy leaks and finding one’s “golden hour” for optimal clarity and productivity to achieve sustainable success.

After lunch at the Meditation Gardens, attendees headed to finish the day with sessions from Cyd and David from Destroy the Hairdresser, Lori Obiedzinski from Aura Salonware and Salon Coach Keri Davis Duffy.
Reinventing the Traditional Salon
Cyd and David founded their coaching company for salon owners and hairdressers ready to ditch outdated business models. During Aura BeautySphere Connect, they spoke about using hourly pricing, going gratuity-free, ditching the front desk, implementing station sharing, embracing autonomy and technology, and adopting conscious leadership to a business that can survive the next decade and beyond.
Accelerating Revenue bye Enhancing the Customer Journey
Aura Salonware’s Lori Obiedzinski emphasized the importance of focusing on the entire client journey, from the initial contact to post-appointment follow-ups. Lori highlighted how salons can build strong relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals using proven strategies for optimizing client interactions at every touchpoint.
Future-Proofing Your Business.
To conclude the day, Salon Coach Keri Davis outlined how to successfully prepare for an exit from one’s business. As the former owner of two successful salons in San Diego, CA, Keri stressed the importance of managing salons with the mindset that they could be sold at any moment. She discussed the five key pillars for building a business with an eventual sale in mind and examined ways to foster a salon culture that embraces exit strategies.
